Stanley Green FoundationThe Emerging Photographer Grant aims to provide a $10,000 grant to visual storytellers at the beginning of their careers in order to develop impactful visual narratives. The program places particular emphasis on photographers from underserved and diverse communities, expanding access to resources and opportunities to bring their stories to life.
Requirements
Biography: A biography of up to 1500 characters (including spaces).
Project Description: A concise summary of the project. The project should be journalistically feasible, visually translatable, and humanistically driven. The description should not exceed 2000 characters (including spaces).
Project Proposal: A detailed description of the applicant’s plan. It should explain how the applicant will use the Stanley Greene Foundation Grant funds to launch or complete the project. The proposal should not exceed 3000 characters (including spaces).
Images: Applicants may submit up to 25 images in total. These should include representative images from the project proposed to the Stanley Greene Foundation Grant. Alternatively, if it is a new project, applicants may include past work clearly marked as such, demonstrating their vision and ability to execute the proposed project. No AI-generated imagery is allowed.
Applicants must be 18 years or older to apply for this grant.
As part of the project proposal, grantees are encouraged to incorporate a multimedia approach.
Judging
Three members of the Stanley Greene Foundation’s Board of Directors will serve as the jury. The jury will meet twice. During the first meeting, they will review submitted materials, including applications, proposals, and photographs. Finalists will be selected based on the merits of the submissions. Finalists will then have a short period of time to refine their proposals and respond to jury questions. During the second meeting, the jury will revisit the proposals, review new material, and make the final selection.
Grant Terms
Applicants understand and agree that if selected as a recipient, $8,000 will be paid upon receipt of the grant, and an additional $2,000 will be paid upon receipt of fifteen (15) digital images and a final report detailing how the grant was used and how it contributed to the success of the project.
The digital images referenced above will become part of the Stanley Greene Foundation Collection and may be used for promotional purposes.
